Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

Your journal is deeply personal. This policy explains exactly what Fable (fablejournal.com) collects, how it's used, and who can see it.

1. What we collect

  • Account data — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
  • Journal content — your voice-note transcriptions and the journal entries generated from them, plus their moods and dates. Voice audio itself is transcribed in your browser and is not uploaded or stored.
  • Billing data — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

2. How your journal is used

Your entries are used for one thing: showing them back to you and powering the features you use (weekly letters, memory search, year in review). To generate those, your notes are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, which processes them to produce your text. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use your journal to train AI models.

3. Who can see your entries

You. Entries are protected by per-account database rules — each account can only read and write its own journal. Our operators do not read your entries except if required to investigate abuse or comply with law.

4. Where data lives

Data is stored with Supabase (database and authentication) and processed by Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), and Anthropic (AI generation). Each processes only what they need to provide their service.

5. Cookies and tracking

Fable uses only the storage needed to keep you logged in. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics cookies.

6. Your rights

You can export your journal (paid plans include one-click export), correct your account details in Settings, and request deletion of your account and all its data by emailing us. Deletion is permanent.

7. Children

Fable is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it here with a new date and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
